A most taxing time

Sure it's broad, but Steven Yates' all-encompassing moan from last year sure makes me feel better/righteously indignant as I struggle with my tax return.

Best advice to the leading edge of the boomer generation: when you get older, don’t get sick. Or disabled. Don’t have a stroke or get Alzheimer’s disease or anything. Your tax dollars notwithstanding, the feds who lay claim to the fruits of your labors are effectively broke and massively in debt. The official books amount to a colossal effort at concealment. Your kids won’t have the money to take care of you. Most will be too busy trying to survive themselves.
