Stuff to Read

As someone who spent a ridiculous amount of time idling on Battleground Avenue today, I was glad to see David Wharton urging his fellow conservatives not to turn up their noses at Smart Growth initiatives just because they may have some liberals attached.

Patrick Eakes is providing a valuable service in blogging the experiences of his friend, Marine Cpl. Nick Sowers, who is stationed in Iraq and whose convoy was recently ambushed. See pictures of the Humvee he was riding in.

For an excellent explanation of what this blog thing is all about, how traditional media outlets are having to rethink the way they report, and what the News & Record wants to do differently, be sure to read Editor John Robinson's column either on his blog or in tomorrow's newspaper.
